Mahesh Foundation

Mahesh Foundation came into existence in the year 2008. It is a safe shelter home Ashakiran for HIV-infected children between the age group of 6-18 years. Mahesh Foundation was started when the founder Mahesh Jadhav met a 4-year-old boy in a government hospital in Belagavi. The care home has now sheltered 45 children and reached 2000+ beneficiaries over the years. Ashakiran functions under the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ Act) & the beneficiaries are sanctioned by the Child Welfare Committee.

Apart from the care home, Mahesh Foundation runs a school Utkarsha Learning Center for HIV-infected, slum & underprivileged children providing skill-based education. The Aadhar Vidya Program supports the education of needy children. To date, supported over 20000 children. Mahesh Foundation extends healthcare services to 37000+ Individuals living with HIV in rural areas. Many children who were admitted to the care home were counting the days but now they are living a healthy, independent and dignified life. Since its inception, Mahesh Foundation has been maintaining zero mortality.

Mahesh Foundation also supports the livelihood of the underprivileged women who lost their sole breadwinner or are unfortunate to get their backing from them. The program was started in 2014 and since then supported 1500+ needy women.

Mahesh Foundation is registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act and is eligible for legal status. In addition, Mahesh Foundation is eligible for the tax benefits under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. It is also registered under the FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) to receive donations from foreign sources implying the great financial stability of the organization.

The founder Mahesh Jadhav was honored with the National Award for Child Welfare by the Government of India. The organization has received ISO 9001:2015 from the Indian Standards Organization. The organization is recognized as the FIT institution by the Government of Karnataka in 2014.
